I spent the larger part of
the day finishing my learner workbook on ratios, fractions, decimals and
percentages, trying to show how these helpfully connect while being subtly and
unhelpfully different; I did take a break to mow just the front lawn, but with
the area of grass at the front and at the back being in the ratio of 1:7 that means
I cut only ⅛,
or 0.125 or 12½% (take your pick) of the total grounds – on reflection maybe I
should have spent longer mowing and less time on the workbook.
